Families in Need
Although schooling and the improvement of it in Ukajede is a major part of the cause, we here at The People for Ukajede Foundation aim at improving the living conditions for those truly in need.
THE DESIRE TO ACHIEVE, BUT NOT THE MEANS
Mpho and Mphoyana are twins living in a small shack in the Ukajede Settlement. They are under the supervision of their grandmother who also looks after their two siblings. The children vary in age, but all share one thing in common – their desire to succeed and achieve.
Although their grandmother supports them, she can only do so much as she is at an age where physical activity does not come so easy to her anymore. She also has severe problems with her legs which also hinders her movements. Due to the conditions in Ukajede as well as their grandmother’s lack of ability to assist, this
family of five sometimes go to bed at night without dinner, and lack the financial means to go to school. Their grandmother is deeply saddened by this fact due to her natural and overwhelming desire to see her grandchildren succeed – something their parents were not able to do.
They are appealing to anyone who can assist in any way. This can be financially or a donation of any sort (food, school supplies, house items). The children vary in their grades. The three girls are in Grade 11, 12 and a crèche while the young boy is in Grade 9. With your help, these children can fulfill their grandmother’s wish to see them succeed.
Kindly contact us if you can assist in any way.
